| Back from Disneyland, part 2 |
| 01.07.06 (3:06 pm) [edit] |
I hope I never get as big as my mom. Not only can and/or will she not walk around the park, it seems she can't go on most of the rides.
They stopped the Haunted Mansion because the safety bar would not come down on her lap (which evidentally doesn't stop people from getting out anyway, more on that later), I had to ride alone, and they made her promise not to get out. Very embarassing for her, and the first time that's ever happened.
Rode some rides, did some shopping, Mike decided he had to be independednt since he had a definitive plan in his mind of what he wanted to accomplish, and that included standing in line as long as necessary, and not takng it easy. I think he's brat for wanting to do that.
Dad took a nap.
My mom and I went on the shopping ride. This is the first time I've ever been there where we could shop on the principal, "You have a birthday coming up."
Saw the fireworks from the Mark Twain.
"How many come in a trio?" Stupidest question from QSFB Cast Member at the mint Julep window.
On a completely unrelated note, I am on the family computer in Granite Bay. We had to get rid of the first keyboard we had with this because it skipped about half the letters one typed. One would think that if one keyboard failed, one would not ru right back out and buy another one exactly the same. But that's what I get for thinking. ANYWAY......
Next day, also got a late start, managed to avoid the Asphalt Jungle, but only one tram running to what's left of the Disneyland parking lot, so we were still an hour late getting in.
What else? Had fun at the CA Adventure...
Oh! My bank called, for those of you playing the home game, you know about the issues I've been having with my bank that all started when they made a mistake with some temporary checks. I thought the issue was resolved (See 12.24.05). And while waiting in line for a ride at CA Adventure, the bank called and said, "When are you going to bring that check back in?" And when I said somebody with either a first or last name of Phi (who seemed to know nothing about temporary checks) told me to destroy it, I was told I should not have done that.
So I wonder what adventures await me because of their stupid mistake...
After CA Adventure closed, we went to Disneyland, shopped, attempted to watch the fireworks, which were cancelled, "Due to winds at higher elevations."
Mike, Dad and I had gotten Fast Passes (fortunately) for Splash Mountain. Log-after-next would be ours. And the one in the loading area never left...and never left...and never left...
According to a very knowledgable operator, someone jumped in and out of one of the logs earlier, which is not uncommon on that ride since not only are people assholes, they freak out about the final drop. The ride stopped. When the ride stops, the water level rises and must go back down. Mike was freaking out and being Mike. After waiting a very long time, the ride started, the people ahead of us got on, and the ride stopped again.
At least we didn't wait an hour and get to that point. That would have been really frustrating.
I've never been evacuated from a Disney ride.
The next day, we actually were there when they opened, it wasn't uberly busy, by that afternoon, Mike decided to be an independent jerk, the three of us were standing around looking at each other saying, "What do you want to do?" So my dad and I rode Pirates and Haunted Mansion again.
We also managed to get good-all-day fast passes for Splash Mountain.
Fireworks were cancelled again.
Went home thru Solvang. It was in the 80's when we left Solvang. It was foggy and 50's when we got back to Granite Bay.
I guess that's it for the trip.
My manager called me yesterday and wants me to work tomorrow, so that's good.
