Some things that have been happening lately:
On Friday I went to the Guns'n'Roses concert with my dad. First we went to San Francisco for dinner then the show. The first 4 hours really sucked. The show started at 8. They had a stripper opening act, a shitty local opening act, the opening act (which we honestly thought was them and we couldn't understand why they didn't play any good songs and it must be them because this is usual concert letting-out time), and then Guns'n'Roses. Because my dad and I both had to be somewhere far away from the stadium early in the morning we didn't stay through the whole show. We weren't the only ones either. There were two songs that we didn't get to hear (Civil War, Paradise City) which you just knew were going to be big closers.
So, too many freakin' opening acts or they should have started an hour or two sooner. The whole time my dad and I were thinking "We could have been in San Francisco or working an extra two hours had we known."
The semester is over. I didn't finish my painting with the evil ferns. It will need to be done later. Of course, within hours of this relief, my body allowed aspects of my nasty cold to come back.
In addition, I got my grade from my figure drawing teacher, the one who is bitter because he's never made the big time, doesn't like San Jose for the simple reason that it's not New York, has a Stanford education (which is a wonderful academic school, but not so much art school) which he shows off by using a complicated word when a big one will do, cares more about pretty pictures than accuracy, but most importantly, can't draw. His final comment, "Most of these drawings seem rote." I wasn't even sure if I was reading his writing correctly with "rote." Turns out it means mechanical and unimaginiative. Perhaps if I had drawn figures with no shoulders, no bones in their feet like half the class did I would have gotten a better grade.
I wore bad shoes Christmas shopping and now my feet are blistered.
I need to go to one more store for shopping then I will be done.
I was going to write a long entry once about the obnoxious crazy animal rights lady who stands outside the store shouting, "Animal Abuse! Sign to fight it! Sign!" And you talk to her, she doesn't seem to represent anyone but herself (not PETA or anything) and while her shouting makes it sound like all you have to do is sign a petition, what you really have to do is give her $10 for some reason. I think she cares about animal rights because she has the manners of a boar. And for some reason neither the store nor the police can do anything about her. Anyway, the store manager has finally chased her away with a broom due to too many customer complaints.
I have never worked at a job where any one person was so universally hated. This one little twit (who my husband thinks has ADD) stares off into space when she should be working, complicates things, won't shut up, decides she needs to be doing some menial task that is unnecessary right that moment (like changing bags when we are really busy, and right under my feet. I almost intentionally farted on her once), plays with her hair at just the wrong time, and tried to steal one of my shifts once (which is what really made me hate her although she probably didn't do it maliciously, just stupidly).
And finally, I hate Internet Exploder so much because now for some reason I can't read Andrea's journal. The page will load, some error message will come up, it comes up all the time, but when I click it off on her page, it turns the window off, and I can't even scroll down to read the entry.
And I hate working 12-9 and I hate 3/5 shifts. I'm sure it makes sense to the break-assigning computer but it sucks for us.
Current Mood:not as shaky and weak as I was yesterday
