| Firewire Drive II |
| 09.04.07 (8:42 pm) [edit] |
After three failed delivery attempts and a holiday weekend, and sending Jeremy down to stand in a long line where they almost didn't give him my item I finally got my portable firewire drive. So I plug it in and expect to start loading all pictures and documents and things on it. And the device doesn't come up in "My Computer" but it does show up in the "Unplug/Eject Hardware" window. I figure out it is because the package didn't come with the necessary CD to make the thing work, or an instruction manual. So I go on the website, which is really difficult to navigate so it's hard to see if the thing is even available, and doesn't have the driver that you can just download, I found websites with the driver but only for Mac, and the technical support is only available 9-5.
Effing wonderful...I have a feeling I just wasted $60.
I deleted 80MB, but somehow I only have 7 available.
Lousy thing.
Maybe I'm just silly, but wouldn't it make sense from a deliverer stand point to maybe after the 2nd attempt of coming at exactly 2:03 and finding no one home during the week that maybe that isn't the best time to try and deliver that package?
Stupid holiday. Making everything late, and slow, and I can't even get triple time. Stupid union. They bash other stores like Target for being non-union but Target does better for him than the union does for us. I only got a dollar extra an hour yesterday, unlike people who have been there for 2 years or more who got triple time, and my husband who got time.5. A whole dollar!
That to me is like going to a restaurant and the service being so lousy you leave a tip of a couple of cents so the waiter knows how you really feel. The union is so shitty they could only get us a dollar on holidays. Unfortunately, I think the newer people still have to pay the same union dues. I still think it should be optional.
Current Mood: frustrated.
And now, I must do something...
