iPod Music erased
12.04.07 (9:17 am)   [edit]
Apple things are wonderful. The reason they are wonderful is because they run things so that it's like every time you sit down with your Apple thing, it's like you're just learning from scratch. It doesn't matter that you've been using a computer for as long as 21 years or even a few weeks, it's always like day one.

It is because of this "We assume you're a moron with memory issues" process, I believe, that all my songs disappeared. For some reason, my iPod this morning decided to put some files onto the computer and erase the 800 or so that I had on there. While they are still on CDs and I have the original files hither and yon, I still now have to get them back. Which is a pain in the ass.

So I call up the help desk, which is in Buttfuck, India, the little chicky on the phone says that my iPod is over a year old, being purchased in November. (I only received the iPod last February). But for her to very simply say, "You must have pushed such-and-such, to make that happen" was going to cost me. I could have sat there arguing with her longer than it would have taken her to simply say that. But no.

So now, I've wasted an hour of painting/working time dealing with this little chore.

So, if anybody reading this has any idea what happened, please leave me a comment.
