Shit. Stuff really sucks.
Here is how things work on my planet:
I work at a job I don't like. When I feel ill, i either can't justify calling in sick over something like my foot, which hurts ever day, or a cold, or school. Either that, or I am sick right before I'm about to go on vacation, or they've cut my hours. So I go, and I say, "BTW, I'm not feeling well, so if there is a chance I can go home maybe an hour or two early today, I would appreciate it." And of course it never happens.
On a different day, one of two other people either call in or are immediately dismissed for being so sick. They ask me to stay an extra hour. And because usually its overtime and I often don't have anything better to do, I do it. The one time I did, they said, "Oh! But we'll be short! Pretty pretty please!" Fortunately, it didn't screw up my plans much.
For the second day in a row, I've stayed an extra hour. I am very irritable.
I have never once called in sick. I have probably been late 5 or 6 times in the last year and 5 month, I have covered for people many times. And how do I get rewarded? With shittier shifts than this one girl with less seniority and is one of the aforementioned people.
And I come home and my husband, who is off all day, and can't find anything better to do with himself when he has free time than drink, asks me, "What are you going to make for dinner?"
And there is no sauce for what I was going to make for dinner.
And my husband went out wandering around without his cell phone.
I will not be making dinner, apparently.
